Financial AID

Financial Aids to Foreign Students in the USA

A US education is very expensive. Tuition, room and board at an undergraduate institution will cost from $15,000 to $40,000 a year, depending on the school. A graduate education can be even more expensive.

Financial aid to  undergraduate students is  generally given on consideration of students

academic merit, financial need, exceptionally brilliant talent, etc. While the situation is somewhat better for applicants to graduate (Master's and Ph.D.) programmes, the competition is very stiff. Very few institutions will have financial aid opportunities for M.B.A. Programmes, though, aid is generally available for highly qualified students applying for doctoral courses.

Universities usually offer graduate level financial assistance in three forms: Fellowships, teaching and/ or research assistantships; and full assistance, American universities consider the result of examinations during studies in India, the scores of the objective tests, recommendations from teachers / employers and last but not the least, personal essays helps your chances of getting financial aid if you are able to send your completed application and financial aid forms early.
